What's the best way to ship items for eBay?

AAssuming you live in the US the cheapest and most cost effective way of shipping merchandise is to utilize the US Postal Service. Here are some of the benefits:

* Their costs are very competitive with other domestic carriers
* They offer package tracking (so you know when it's delivered) as well as insurance
* They will pick up the items at your door
* You can print postage & shipping labels online (provided you have a credit card or PayPal)
* They will ship you packaging supplies (basically boxes) for FREE (

From a cost and convenience perspective it is hard to beat the services they offer.

The only equipment you would need to buy is a decent postal scale to weigh your packages before you ship them. Most office supply stores sell analog style scales for around $30 and while you're there you should plan on picking up some packing tape and packing material (foam peanuts, bubble wrap).

All packages should ship with a return address (yours) and a recepient's address (your buyer) clearly labeled on the front of the package. It is your best way of guaranteeing safe delivery.
